FURTHER DUETS-Performance Program

Further Duets--Duets are fun! This unique piano duets course is designed to enhance piano students' rhythm, dynamic, musical collaboration and performance skills, and prepare Further Piano stars for the annual Gala Concert, and other public performance events. In duet classes, students will collaborate with their peers of a similar level to create beautiful music. The course will meet weekly for 45 minutes, in a total of 16 sessions. 

 

All piano students who are in Piano Adventure book 2B and beyond are eligible to take this course. Weekly private piano lessons are required.

Basic Beginner Level 
 For Students in Piano Adventure 2B-3B or ABRSM Grade 1-2

This series of masterclasses is for pianists of P4-Grade 2 (Further Music and ABRSM Evaluation)standard and above, playing the major works of the piano four-hand repertoire. There are regular opportunities for public performance. Weekly private piano lessons are required to register for this course.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate good piano ensemble techniques

  • Learn professional stage etiquette

  • Improve the understanding of rhythm and melody

  • Know tips for effective performing in piano duo/duet playing

  • Expand your knowledge of the piano duo and duet repertoire

  • Improve listening and playing skills

  • Develops a sense of cooperation and coordination as a playing form with high musical and artistic value

Beginner Level  
For Students in ABRSM Grade 3-4

This series of masterclasses is for pianists of Grade 3-Grade 4 (Further Music and ABRSM Evaluation)standard and above, playing the significant works of the piano four-hand repertoire. There are regular opportunities for public performance. Weekly private piano lessons are required to register for this course.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Increase your knowledge about pedal techniques in piano duet playing

  • Know tips for effective rehearsing in piano duo/duet playing
