At Further Music School, our private cello lessons are designed for beginners through advanced students and focus on building strong technical and musical foundations. Students learn essential cello skills such as proper posture and instrument setup, bowing and left-hand technique, tone production, intonation, scales, sight-reading, rhythm, and music theory.
Our experienced cello instructors tailor each lesson to the student’s age, level, and musical goals, using classical and contemporary cello repertoire to develop expression and confidence. Lessons also emphasize effective practice methods, performance preparation, ensemble skills, and audition or exam readiness. With personalized, one-on-one instruction, students gain the skills and confidence needed to grow as well-rounded cellists and lifelong musicians.

About Instructors:
Private cello lessons provide focused, one-on-one instruction, guiding students to hone their skills and reach their individual goals. Each student is teamed with a member of our highly qualified and strictly trained violin teacher, who will assess students’ needs and help develop their individual talents.
Our teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, Berklee College of Music, New York University, New England Conservatory with Master Degrees. Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours in the US, Asia, Europe. They also have over 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our faculty team strives to get to know each student and their parents on a personal level.
