(Adult Band) Further Rocks-Band Program

Course Description

Further Rocks Adult Band is designed for adults and older teens who want the experience of making music as part of a real band. Whether you currently take lessons, play recreationally, or are returning to your instrument after time away, this program provides a structured and supportive environment to develop your skills alongside other musicians. Under the direction of a professional instructor, band members rehearse complete songs while learning how to listen, communicate, and perform together as an ensemble. Repertoire may include rock, pop, R&B, jazz, and other contemporary styles, selected according to the interests and abilities of each group. What You'll Experience: -10 weekly 45-minute band rehearsals -Professional musical direction -Small ensemble experience -Full-song arrangements and repertoire -Rhythm, timing, listening, and ensemble development -Songwriting and creative projects when appropriate -Live performance preparation -School-wide Further Rocks Band Recital -Professional recording session -Band Roles Ensembles may include: Guitar • Bass • Keyboard • Drums • Voice Instrumentation and individual roles may vary depending on enrollment and the needs of each band. Recommended Experience Adult Band is intended for musicians with basic familiarity with their instrument or voice. Advanced experience is not required. Guitar/Bass: 3+ months of experience Voice: 3+ months of experience Drums: 3+ months of experience Keyboard: Approximately 1+ year / ABRSM Grade 2 or equivalent Participants should be comfortable practicing assigned material independently between rehearsals. Performance & Recording Experience Further Rocks goes beyond weekly rehearsals. Each band works toward both a live performance and professional recording experience, giving musicians the opportunity to take their music from the rehearsal room to the stage and studio. Fall 2026 Band Recital: Sunday, December 6, 2026 Fall 2026 Recording Day: Saturday, December 12, 2026 Program Format 10 Weeks • 45 Minutes Weekly • Ages 15+ A brief placement consultation may be requested to ensure a balanced ensemble and appropriate musical fit.
