Early Education Program Director /Clarinet Instructor

Amy Lentz is a clarinetist and early education specialist from the heart of Iowa.She attended the University of Northern Iowa and earned a B.A. in Music, as well as a B.S. in Anthropology. While attending UNI, she performed for His Holiness the Dalai Lama and former First Lady Michelle Obama. At the University of New Mexico, she received her M.A. in Clarinet Performance.

 

As a classically trained musician and early education specialist, Ms. Amy has spent many years developing and implementing early childhood music classes and music appreciation classes. In her class, Ms.Amy works on making sure students to learn the fundamentals of music as well as enjoy the lessons.

Amy has performed in numerous ensembles, groups, master classes, and recitals. She gained the knowledge and experience to become a top performer at her schools. Notable teachers include Dr. Amanda McCandless, Keith Lemmons, and Jack Graham.

Ms.Amy was Classically trained and well versed in technique and repertoire, she understands that each person is unique and their experience will be different, therefore a tailored and carefully designed approach is the key to musical success. From beginner students to advanced students, Amy will help them discover their musical goals and devise the best course of action to achieve these goals. Amy is motivating, patient, and experienced. Lessons with her are engaging, detailed, and progress-oriented. Students will gain a throughout understanding of clarinet technique, repertoire and history, enabling them to become their very best.
